In Sierra's "Hellfire" companion to Blizzard's "Diablo", there are several unimplemented "joke" quests and 2 unimplemented hidden characters that you can play. Here is how to get to them. Go to your Hellfire directory and create or edit the file "command.txt". It should consist of exactly this string of characters:
cowquest;theoquest;bardtest;barbariantest;nestart
Now run Hellfire and things will have changed. The Bard and Barbarian will replace the Rogue and Warrior on the Start New Character screen. The Bard is a melee fighter; she knows Identify as a skill and can wield 2 swords in combat. The Barbarian is a beefier Warrior who is designed to be an axe wielding berserker, however he suffers from reduced defense.
The other changes are to the quests in Hellfire: the Farmer's Orchard quest will be replaced by the Complete Nut quest, and there will be a new quest involving a little girl's lost teddy bear.
Hellfire version 1.01 should be installed before you try this. It *should* work with 1.00, but the Barbarian won't be available.
Now can anyone else detect some sort of cow fixation over at Blizzard? ;-)
